Zach joined WITN in December 2022 as the Chief Meteorologist.
Zach is from Jonesboro, Arkansas where he's spent the past 4 years working as a meteorologist for Region 8 News. Arkansas weather is wild. In those 4 years, he's covered winter storms, severe weather, tornadoes, and tropical systems. He was on the air as a large EF-3 tornado went through the main city of Jonesboro during one of the busiest times of the day. Thankfully, no one was killed by the tornado. He also covered the beginning of the EF-4 tornado on December 10th which went on to rival the length of the 1923 Tri-State tornado. Before Jonesboro, Zach graduated from Mississippi State and began his weather career as a meteorologist for KAUZ in Wichita Falls, TX. He knows Eastern Carolina weather can be wild too and is ready to get to work forecasting/keeping people safe.
Zach is married to his beautiful wife Katie and a dad to Jax, their German Shepherd. They love to hike and travel. You'll see them around town, at church, trying new restaurants, or figuring out which beach to hit up during the summer. Say hi and get to know them! They're excited to make Eastern Carolina home and build a lot of connections and friendships.
