GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Three people have been arrested after an attempted robbery in Greenville.

Greenville police say at about 4:30 Wednesday they were flagged down by a man near State Employees Credit Union on Charles Boulevard who told them people in a white BMW just tried to rob him.

Officers then say they spotted the car, tried to stop it, but the driver tried to get away. A chase followed before the car crashed into a pole on Arlington Boulevard near Smythewyck Drive in front of the ABC store.

Three people ran from the car, and all of them were caught.

Police say charges are pending for all three and the investigation into the robbery is ongoing.
