GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - A major intersection in Greenville has partially reopened after a natural gas leak Tuesday morning.

Police asked drivers to avoid the intersection of Arlington Boulevard and Dickinson Avenue.

Greenville Utilities said a contractor working in the area severed a four-inch line around 10:15 a.m.

By early afternoon, southbound Dickinson and eastbound Arlington were again open to traffic. The other directions for those streets will be closed for a while longer, according to Greenville police.

GUC said gas service was shut off to six customers in that area as crews make repairs under the road.
